Rajiv Bajaj has been instrumental in introducing Bajaj Auto to the motorcycle market, a segment he believed had great growth potential. This decision has changed the face of Bajaj Auto and greatly accelerated the company’s growth.

In 2005, Rajiv Bajaj was voted our sister publication, Autocar Professional’s, Man of the Year for having led the company’s transition from a scooter manufacturer to a leading motorcycle OEM. He has a strong belief in brand-led business strategy, as seen in the Pulsar brand and other motorcycle models, as well as in engaging strongly in the global two-wheeler market.

In the current fiscal’s first 11 months, Bajaj Auto has sold over 21 lakh two-wheelers in the domestic market, up 3.27 percent YoY, and exported over 15.4 lakh units, an increase of 14.52 percent YoY. While the company is currently ranked third in the domestic motorcycle market in FY2025, with an 18 percent market share, it is the No. 1 two-wheeler exporter.

In the scooter market, where it sells a single product line – the Chetak EV – Bajaj Auto has sold over 2 lakh units in the past 11 months, an increase of 123 percent year on year.
