Being set amidst the colorful cultural extravaganza of the Assamese festival of Bihu, “Bihu Attack” deals with a serious and delicate issue such as terrorism, national security, and the oneness of society. The film is based on Raj Kunwar, a courageous and committed security officer from Assam who is court-martialed. Raj is a firm believer in education and mainstreaming and is known for bringing misguided youth to mainstream society. After the death of his wife, he is leading a peaceful life with his daughter.

The story takes an intense turn when there is intelligence about a large-scale terrorist attack planned during Bihu, which coincides with the visit of the Defence Minister. A terrorist organization from an neighboring nation joins local groups to carry out this attack. Raj Kunwar, with his experience and with the help of former officer KD Sir, decides to thwart this impending tragedy on his own. The climax stands out to be the most imperative and interesting part of this film.

What stands out are the frames that the director lights and creates, which give the film the slick look it deserves. Most of the films get carried away by CGI and shoddy visual effects, but this war drama is bolstered by raw and edgy action, and VFX that compliment the intensity of the drama.

Dev Menaria performs convincingly in the role of Raj Kunwar. He maintains just the right balance between being a responsible officer and a single father.
Daisy Shah has a satisfactory performance.
Arbaaz Khan is seen to be in his element while portraying the character of chief Intelligence Bureau. Supporting actors like Rahul Dev, Raza Murad, Yukti Kapoor, Mir Sarwar, and Hiten Tejwani have added strength to the story.

Bihu Attack is a sincere movie because of its subject and honest approach. It is much more than a thriller movie, “Bihu Attack” aims to provide a social message to its audience by stating that education, talk, and social inclusion are very important tools to overcome extremisms. Bihu Attack portrays a very thoughtful approach with regard to Northeast India, stating once again that cultural identity does not clash with national identity—both are complementary forces.
