“Product perfection is the need of the hour. We need to brainstorm on how to achieve that, as this will be important for India to become a developed nation by 2047,” he said. The Chief Minister added that, according to him, India was unstoppable and would no doubt be the number one economy by 2047.
Naidu spoke to CNBC-TV18 ahead of the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam. The state government is set to sign 410 MoUs worth ₹9.8 lakh crore with various companies.
During the event, the Andhra Pradesh government will lay foundation stones for projects worth ₹2.7 lakh crore, generating 2.5 lakh jobs. The Chief Minister highlighted how, in the last 16 months, the likes of ArcelorMittal, Google, BPCL, NTPC and top solar manufacturers have committed to investments of close to ₹6 lakh crore.
The Chief Minister spoke about the legacy he wishes to leave behind. He said the Hyderabad IT story is a proof of concept.
“I started my career by promoting Hyderabad as an IT city, and today it is a success story all over the world. Today, I am thinking the next level of technology is artificial intelligence,” said Naidu.
He added that his vision is to see one entrepreneur in every household and every family produce one AI use case. The Andhra Pradesh government is going to work aggressively towards building the state as a hub for AI, data centres, quantum computing and satellite manufacturing. The state also has ambitions to build a space city, drone city and aerospace city in the next few years.
The veteran TDP leader is going all out to attract investments for his state.
“Andhra Pradesh till now was a sleeping giant, and we are now working to make it one of the best logistics hubs. We have 1,000 km of coastline. I want to build a port every 50 km, and people across the state should be able to reach any airport in 60 minutes. After Tirupati, new airports are coming up at Visakhapatnam, Bhogapuram and Amravati. The Railways Ministry is looking at doubling the gauge between Visakhapatnam and Chennai. With all these measures, the state will become a logistics hub,” he added.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said he is working around the clock to ensure faster clearances for projects. The state government wants to ensure that all projects are up and running within two to three years.
The state is also targeting 50,000 new hotel rooms by 2029 in order to leverage the tourism potential of the state. The government claims that the state’s decentralised model ensures every district participates in and benefits from industrial growth and job creation.
