A real couple was married live during Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show, with the artist serving as a witness and signing their certificate
A real wedding took place during the culturally rich halftime performance led by Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl, with the artist acting as an official witness. His representatives confirmed that the couple, who were not identified, had originally invited him to attend their wedding, but he instead invited them to join the Apple Music Halftime Show for a live ceremony.
About five minutes into the 13-minute show at
Levi’s Stadium, viewers saw the final moments of the ceremony as an officiant declared the couple married. Both dressed in white, they clasped hands and kissed while surrounded by dancers and musicians.
As the newlyweds stepped aside, the stage opened to reveal Lady Gaga and Los Sobrinos, the Puerto Rican salsa band featured on
Bad Bunny’s recent album and residency.
Surprise musical moment follows the vows
Los Sobrinos and Gaga performed part of “Die With a Smile” before Bad Bunny returned to the centre of the scene to continue the show with “Baile Inolvidable”. He danced among the wedding guests and the newly married couple as the performance shifted seamlessly back into its musical flow.
Following the show, Bad Bunny’s representatives confirmed that the marriage had been legally officiated during the broadcast. The artist served as a witness and signed the marriage certificate, and a real wedding cake was included as part of the staging.
The wedding moment formed part of the show’s broader tribute to Puerto Rico, with the set designed to resemble a small outdoor plaza and featuring artists tied to the island’s musical heritage.
Turning Point USA honours Charlie Kirk
Turning Point USA used its “All-American Halftime Show” on Sunday to pay tribute to its late founder Charlie Kirk as Kid Rock closed out the performance. The show featured Lee Brice, Gabby Barrett and Brantley Gilbert before Kid Rock delivered the finale. As he neared the end of one of his songs, large video boards surrounding the stage displayed photos of Kirk, his wife Erika and their children, along with the words “In remembrance of Charlie Kirk”, while the broadcast played one of his speeches. Kirk was assassinated in September during a speech at Utah Valley University.
The show presented patriotic performances designed as counterprogramming to the Super Bowl LX halftime show led by Bad Bunny. “This is real American,” Gilbert said at the start of the event, wearing a “God, family country” T-shirt. The YouTube livestream reached more than 4.8 million viewers before the programme ended, and War Department Secretary Pete Hegseth noted that he and his family were watching.
