The makers of The Kerala Story 2 deny reports of teaser removal, calling the claims false and misleading. They clarify that no court order has been passed and all content remains available.
The makers of The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond have issued an official clarification, firmly denying reports suggesting that the film’s teaser was removed following court intervention. Production house Sunshine Pictures termed the circulating claims as “completely false, baseless, and misleading,” urging all to refrain from spreading unverified information.
The statement comes in response to reports that surfaced after the Kerala High Court agreed to watch the film ahead of its scheduled release, sparking speculation about possible restrictions.
Makers Say No Court Order Has Directed Any Removal
In a detailed statement, Sunshine Pictures clarified that the matter is currently sub judice and no court has passed any order directing the removal of any promotional content.
“Sunshine Pictures would like to categorically clarify that the news currently circulating regarding the removal of
_The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond_ teaser is completely false, baseless, and misleading. The matter is presently subjudice. No judgement or order has been passed by any court directing the removal of any content,” the statement read.
The production house further stressed that neither the teaser nor the trailer has been taken down, adding that both remain accessible across all official platforms.
‘We Have Not Deleted Any Material,’ Say Producers
Addressing the rumours directly, the makers said, “We have not deleted or taken down any material. Both the teaser and the trailer of The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond continue to remain available across all our official platforms.”
They also appealed to the media and the public to avoid circulating speculative reports, stating that such misinformation creates unnecessary confusion and fuels misleading narratives.
What Sparked the Controversy?
The clarification follows reports that the Kerala High Court had decided to watch the Hindi film ahead of its release, after petitions raised concerns over its content. The development triggered speculation that the court may have directed changes or removal of promotional material, claims now categorically denied by the makers.
A petition was also filed at the Kerala High Court against the _The Kerala Story 2_. According to PTI, the petitioner has claimed that the film was certified for public viewing by the CBFC allegedly without due compliance with the statutory mandate under the Cinematograph Act, 1952.
According to the petition, the grievance arises from the teaser and trailer of the film, which portray narratives involving women from multiple states, yet brand the content as ‘The Kerala Story’, thereby associating alleged incidents of terrorism, forced conversion and demographic conspiracy exclusively with the state of Kerala.
“Such a portrayal has the potential to stigmatise an entire regional population, disturb public order, and incite communal and regional disharmony”, the petition has said.
As debates around The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond continue, the producers have made it clear that no legal directive has been issued to alter or remove the film’s teaser or trailer. They have urged responsible reporting until the court proceedings conclude.
