Intelligence agencies have received inputs that Lashkar-e-Taiba has been planning attacks near Delhi’s Red Fort and key religious places across India, sources have told News18.
Sources have told the news outlet that security agencies have issued an alert at the Red Fort and nearby areas about a possible explosion threat. They have also suggested that Chandni Chowk may also be targeted by LeT.
Intelligence sources have indicated that the terror outfit is allegedly plotting an IED attack in the national capital and other cities.
The development comes three months after a deadly car explosion near the Red Fort on November 10, 2025, which killed 12 people and injured nearly two dozen others. The blast occurred when a vehicle packed with explosives detonated close to the Red Fort Metro Station, sparking fires in several nearby cars.
According to DNA test results, the vehicle was being driven by Umar Mohammad, also known as Umar Un Nabi, a doctor at Al-Falah University.
