Prime Minister Narendra Modi held high-level bilateral meetings with global leaders and technology executives in New Delhi during the India AI Impact Summit 2026 to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, and emerging technologies.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received Spain’s President Pedro Sanchez Perez-Castejon at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Wednesday, as senior international leaders arrived in the capital for the India AI Impact Summit 2026.

The engagement highlighted growing ties between India and Spain amid a series of high-level meetings linked to the summit.

PM Modi also met
Finland’s Prime Minister Petteri Orpo at Hyderabad House. Orpo is visiting India to attend the ongoing AI India Impact Summit in the national capital.

Taking to X, PM Modi wrote, “Held extensive discussions with the Prime Minister of Finland, Mr. Petteri Orpo. Thanked him for his personal support to the India-EU FTA, which ushers in a golden era in India-Europe relations. India and Finland aim to double trade, thus giving a strong boost to economic linkages. We also talked about enhancing cooperation in futuristic technologies like 6G, innovation, clean energy, biofuels, circular economy and more.”

PM Modi further held a bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit. The two leaders discussed avenues to strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, AI, fintech,

Leaders to attend summit in New Delhi

President of the Republic of Slovakia Peter Pellegrini will attend the AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to take place in New Delhi from 16 to 20 February 2026, according to Robert Maxian, Slovakia’s Ambassador to India.

PM Modi is also set to meet Finland’s Prime Minister Antti Petteri Orpo, Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic, Croatia’s Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, Estonia’s President Alar Karis, Bhutan’s Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay and Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi met Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who is in New Delhi to participate in the India AI Impact Summit.

Global technology executives join discussions

Senior executives from leading artificial intelligence companies are joining several world leaders in New Delhi for the summit, as India seeks to attract further investment into the sector.

India is positioning itself as a major destination for AI companies. Alphabet’s Google, Microsoft and Amazon have already committed a combined $68 billion in AI and cloud infrastructure investment up to 2030.

“The theme of the summit is … welfare for all, happiness for all, reflecting our shared commitment to harnessing Artificial Intelligence for human-centric progress,” PM Modi posted on X.

Key speakers include Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis, who is set to address the event on Thursday.
