US Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr has dubbed the coronavirus a “germ” and said he was not scared of it during the pandemic because he used to snort “cocaine off toilet seats”.
In a conversation with podcaster Theo Von, RFK Jr discussed his decadeslong addiction and how he handled it during the Covid-19 pandemic.
RFK Jr said that he decided to go to every rehabilitation irrespective of shutdowns in the pandemic because the “germ” —coronavirus— could not kill him.
RFK Jr said, “I said, ‘I’m not scared of a germ.’ You know, I used to snort cocaine off a toilet seat, and I know this disease [addiction] will kill me, right? If I don’t treat it, which means, for me, going to meetings every day. It’s just bad for my life. So for me, it was survival.”
RFK Jr has previously said he began doing drugs at the age of 15. In more than four decades as an addict, he has admitted to doing heroin, cocaine, and meth.

As health secretary, RFK Jr has been widely condemned for implementing his anti-vaccine and anti-science and killing federal vaccine-related programmes. He has also been slammed for peddling false theories about vaccines and diseases and doling out unproven medical advice.
RFK Jr’s critics have also referred to his addiction in their criticism and said it does not build confidence about his abilities to lead the nation’s healthcare services.
RFK Jr has previously said that he was not sure whether HIV caused Aids and promoted the debunked idea that party drug poppers might cause the disease.
RFK Jr has also claimed that coronavirus vaccines were developed to control people through microchips. He has also claimed that the coronavirus was engineered such that it avoided Jews and Chinese people and instead target Caucasian and Black people.
“There is an argument that it is ethnically targeted. Covid-19 is targeted to attack Caucasians and Black people. The people who are most immune are Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese,” said RFK Jr.
