Following various teasers and foreign-market debuts, the new MG Majestor has finally been unveiled in India. MG’s full-size body-on-frame SUV will be positioned above the existing Gloster, and will be gunning straight for the Toyota Fortuner, alongside premium monocoque platforms such as the Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq and the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron. Bookings for the new Majestor are underway at Rs 41,000, with test drives beginning in April, and customer deliveries set to begin in May 2026.

New MG Majestor variants
While MG Motor India is yet to reveal the price list of the new Majestor, it has confirmed that three variant options will be available. These come in the form of the entry-level Sharp 4×2, mid-spec Savvy 4×2, and the top-spec Savvy 4×4 – there will be 6- and 7-seater configurations. The brand stated that the first 3,000 customers to pre-reserve the Majestor will be offered a complimentary 5-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, 5 years of roadside assistance, and a 5-year labour-free service contract.

Offered exclusively with a punchy twin-turbo diesel mill
The new MG Majestor is only offered with one powertrain option. The powerplant is a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine that outputs 215hp and 478Nm. And if it sounds familiar, that is because this is the same four-cylinder mill that is found powering the higher variants of the Gloster. A ZF 8-speed torque-converter automatic handles regular transmission duties, while the Majestor’s on-demand four-wheel-drive (4WD) system is accompanied by an all-terrain management software. Called ‘M-Hub’, this feature allows drivers to choose from 10 different terrain/drive modes. Adding to the Majestor’s off-road aids is the ‘M-Crawl’ function, plus a dedicated low-speed transfer case and three differential locks. MG claims that the Majestor has a maximum water-wading capacity of up to 810mm.

A badge-engineered version of the Maxus D90, the exterior design of the MG Majestor doesn’t stray too far from the source. An upright stance, expansive side profile and a squared-off rear are coupled with high ground clearance and deep wheel wells – these design choices culminate into an SUV that looks intimidating. There are horizontal and vertical LED DRLs flanking the ‘Mosaic Matrix’ grille at the front, flared nostrils in the bumper where the headlights are integrated, and body cladding for a tougher look.
The flared fenders of the Majestor get their own black cladding and house 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels in the top variants. Fixed sidesteps should make getting in and out of this SUV a tad less laborious, while the shoulder line looks crisp as it blends into the rear lights. Meanwhile, the roof bars up top appear relatively small and unassuming in overall demeanour. The rear of the new Majestor is home to full-width taillights featuring multiple LED elements. The chiselled tailgate has ‘Morris Garages’ and ‘Majestor’ written on it, while the heavily cladded rear bumper gets faux exhaust tips and a skidplate.

The expansive cabin fields soft-touch materials and a two-tone theme
The 2,950mm wheelbase of the Majestor is the same as the Gloster, which means that there is a third row at the back here as well. Similarly, buyers can get the new Majestor in either a premium 6-seater layout or a more practical 7-seater configuration. MG has upholstered the seats in premium imitation leather, primarily sporting an ebony theme. The former gets two independent captain seats for the middle row, while the latter uses a traditional bench-type arrangement. Regardless, the second-row seats can be folded down and moved out of the way for those seeking access to the third row.
Adding to the practicality of this cabin are multiple cup/bottle holders, storage pockets and charging outlets provided for all three rows. The Majestor’s dashboard and centre console design look different to the Gloster’s, featuring a new head unit for the infotainment system and an upgraded digital instrument panel for the driver. Grab handles located on the pillars, door pads and centre console add a bit of SUV-esque visual toughness to this interior, while the piano-black trim and silver accents contribute to a relatively modern ambience.
With the Majestor’s third row in place, boot space is limited to 343 litres. This can be expanded to up to 1,350 litres with the third-row seats folded down. Gaining access to this boot from the outside is easy, as the 2026 MG Majestor comes with a gesture-activated tailgate.

Its powered tailgate aside, the new Majestor can be had with plenty more modern creature comforts. The convenience-side of things is covered by electrically-operated front seats that are not only heated & cooled but also sport multiple massaging functions. There is a tri-zone automatic climate control system with dedicated vents for the third-row passengers, dual wireless charging pads up front, and an auto-tilting outside rearview mirror (ORVM) feature, too.
MG’s new three-row SUV offers a twin-pane panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a 12–speaker JBL audio system, and 64-colour ambient lights. The redesigned infotainment head unit comprises a 12.3-inch touchscreen, with the digital driver’s display also utilising a 12.3-inch panel. MG’s i-Smart 2.0 connected-car features are a part of the Majestor’s equipment list as well. The Majestor’s Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) include adaptive cruise control, collision detection, auto-emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-departure prevention and blind-spot monitoring, to name a few. There is also electronic stability control, hill-hold assist and hill-descent control, along with ISOFIX anchorages, surround-view cameras and six airbags.
