FBI releases chilling images of a masked, armed person tied to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Savannah Guthrie urges anyone with information to come forward as the search continues
The FBI has released new images showing a masked, armed person connected to the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie. Authorities are working to identify the individual more than a week after the 84-year-old vanished from her Tucson, Arizona, home on January 31.
“This morning, law enforcement has uncovered previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance,” FBI Director Kash Patel said.
Officials noted that prior footage had been inaccessible due to potential tampering, corrupted files, or removed recording devices.
Two short videos released by authorities show the suspect approaching Nancy Guthrie’s front door, checking the camera, then covering the lens with vegetation. The person appears to wear gloves, a zippered sweater, and holds a small flashlight between their teeth.
Savannah Guthrie shared the video on Instagram, appealing to the public: “Someone out there recognises this person. We believe she is still out there. Bring her home.”
The FBI has also announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s safe return.

Family continues pleas for help
Savannah has posted four video appeals in recent days, saying her mother requires daily medication and has limited mobility. The family has also indicated they would be willing to pay for Nancy’s safe return.
Authorities are investigating possible ransom attempts, including emails sent to US media outlets demanding Bitcoin, one of which included a Monday deadline. Last week, one arrest was made in connection to a hoax note.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said President Donald Trump has reviewed the footage and encouraged anyone with information to contact authorities. “The prayers of this entire White House are with Savannah and her family,” she said.
Investigators continue to examine the timeline of events. Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell camera recorded motion at 2:12 am, shortly after being disconnected, and her pacemaker app went offline at 2:28 am. Blood confirmed to be hers was found on the porch, intensifying the search.
