The Winter Olympics begin February 6 in Milan and Cortina with the best of winter sports athletes set to light up the stage amid some scenic views in the two Italian cities. Here’s all you need to know about the Milano Cortina Games 2026.

Winter Olympics return for its 25th edition in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina with more than 3,000 athletes from over 90 countries expected to compete. The Milano Cortina 2026 Games will officially begin on Friday, February 6 and it will be the first edition of the Winter Olympics to be jointly hosted by two cities.

The event will go on from February 6 to 22 and will feature 116 medal events across 16 sporting disciplines. While the Opening Ceremony takes place on February 6, some events have already begun ahead of the official start date.

Arif Mohammad Khan’s Alpine skiing event starts on February 7 while cross-country skiing events, where Stanzin Lundup will participate, also kick off the same day. Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony

The iconic San Siro Stadium will host the Opening Ceremony of the Milano Cortina Games 2026. The closing ceremony will take place at the Verona Olympic Arena on February 22.
