The son of the former Libyan leader, Col Muammar Gaddafi, was shot dead by an armed “gang” late on Tuesday. Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the 53-year-old heir apparent, was killed by a “four-man commando” unit, the head of his political team has confirmed.
