An earthquake of magnitude 6 struck Myanmar on Tuesday, with strong tremors felt in Kolkata and several parts of Bangladesh.
According to data from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the quake occurred about 70 miles east of Akyab in Myanmar. Shaking was reported across parts of West Bengal, including Kolkata, as well as in neighbouring Bangladesh.
The latest tremor marks the third earthquake felt in Myanmar over the past 71 hours, the EMSC said.
