Dhurandhar 2 teaser review: Aditya Dhar signals more gore, hypermasculinity and political defiance as Ranveer Singh’s Hamza rises to power.

“Yeh naya Hindustan hai, yeh ghar pe ghusega bhi aur marega bhi.”

This is perhaps the one line that divided audiences the most when Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar released. Gore and hypermasculinity aside, this dialogue became the ideological spine of the film and its politics. And if there were any doubts about where Dhar stands on the criticism around it, the teaser of Dhurandhar 2 makes his position abundantly clear.

Titled
_Dhurandhar: The Revenge_, the teaser ends by echoing that very line, almost like a provocation. It feels less like a callback and more like a deliberate, defiant gesture. Dhar isn’t course-correcting. If anything, he seems to be showing a clear middle finger to those who questioned the politics of the first film.

Louder, darker, bloodier

The teaser promises exactly what one would expect from a sequel that thrives on excess. More gore. More violence. More hypermasculinity. Dhar isn’t even pretending otherwise.

Ranveer Singh’s Hamza, now revealed as Jaskirat Singh Ranga, is shown on a clear trajectory towards absolute power. This is a man on his way to becoming the gang leader who controls the territory, and the teaser makes sure you feel every smash, thud and bludgeon along the way. Subtlety is not the point here. Endurance is.

Dhar appears to be implying, loudly and unapologetically, that Dhurandhar 2 will be darker, more brutal and more politically loaded than its predecessor.

How long is Dhurandhar 2?

The exact runtime of Dhurandhar 2 is yet to be revealed and will likely only be confirmed once the film receives its censor certificate. That said, if the first film is anything to go by, audiences should brace themselves for a runtime that comfortably stretches beyond three hours.

Will Akshaye Khanna be in Dhurandhar 2?

At this point, it seems unlikely, unless the sequel relies on flashbacks. Akshaye Khanna’s Rehman Dakait was killed in the first film, and it is his vacated position that Hamza now rises to claim.
