Border 2, the patriotic war drama starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh, continued its box office journey into its sixth day, showing an expected weekday decline in collections while maintaining strong overall totals.
The film is now eyeing a Rs. 300 crore worldwide milestone, and Rs 250 crore mark domestically after its solid performance over the extended Republic Day weekend. But Suniel Shetty, who acted in the 1997 blockbuster, has refused to watch the film and in an interview with Mid-day, gave a reason for the same.
“I had said from day one that I will not watch
Border 2 until it crosses a worldwide collection of ₹500 crore. I had kept a mannat (prayer) for Ahan. Till now, I haven’t watched a single frame. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not arrogance about the film.”
“It will probably be the second time for them, but it will be my first. I don’t know how many times I will watch it after that. I have always been proud of Ahan and his decisions. He strongly believed that Border 2 was the film he wanted to do,” he added.
Border 2 Day 6 numbers dip
According to early estimates from industry trackers,
_Border 2_ experienced a noticeable drop in collections on Day 6 (Wednesday) compared with its performance over the Republic Day weekend. The film collected Rs. 13 crore on Day 6, which is it’s lowest collection so far. Yet, it managed to collect in double digits, which proves that it still continues to be a favourite among movie goers.

Despite the mid-week slowdown, Border 2’s total collections across India and overseas have steadily climbed. By the end of Day 5, the film’s cumulative figures were reported at around Rs. 270 crore worldwide, with
strong innings from the Republic Day window and solid theatrical traction in key markets. In India, the total collection stands at Rs. 213.83 crore nett. The gross collection stands at Rs 255.10 crore, according to Sacnilk.
