Ahead of the Republic Day 2026 parade in Delhi, authorities have put in place a multi-layered security plan combining advanced technology with traditional measures. For the first time, Delhi Police will use AI-enabled smart glasses linked to facial-recognition systems to scan crowds and identify potential threats in real time, alongside thousands of CCTV cameras and video analytics.

Anti-drone units, sniper teams and multiple checkpoints reinforce the security grid, while extensive background checks on hotels, guesthouses and personnel aim to pre-empt risks.
