Li-Ning Star’s Cameron Scott won Stage 3 of the Pune Grand Tour 2026 after a thrilling sprint finish, while teammate Luke Mudgway retained the Yellow Jersey as overall leader ahead of the final stage of the event.

Pune Grand Tour 2026 as Cameron Scott clinched the Stage 3 title on Thursday, January 22. Scott clocked a time of 03:04:13, producing a strong late acceleration to take the win after a hard-fought day on a 137 km route from Saswad to Baramati.
Scott’s move in the final stretch proved decisive as he edged out Georgios Bouglas of Burgos Burpellet BH, Spain, who finished with the same time after leading for long parts of the stage. Timothy Dupont of Tarteletto–Isorex, Belgium, also crossed the line in 03:04:13 to complete the podium, highlighting how close the finish was.
Scott praises the team atmosphere
Reflecting on the race, Scott admitted it was tougher than expected. “I think it was a lot harder than we thought it was gonna be. Again, with a lot of shorts and rolling climbs and also the winds, everything adds up especially after two hard days before,” he said after the win.
Speaking to
_Firstpost_ about the team atmosphere, Scott added, “It’s great. We’re really happy. The atmosphere is really good and yeah, we’re all having a really good time in India.”
Zeb Kyffin of Terengganu Cycling Team, Malaysia, finished just outside the podium in fourth place. Meanwhile, Luke Mudgway of Li-Ning Star, who won Stage 1 and 2, could not match the same pace and finished sixth. However, he still managed to retain the Yellow Jersey as the overall General Classification leader and also secured the Green Jersey for Best Sprinter.
After three stages, Mudgway leads the General Classification with a cumulative time of 07:36:10, holding a narrow 14-second advantage over Carter Bettles of Roojai Insurance Winspace, Thailand. Yorben Lauryssen of Tarteletto–Isorex is close behind with a 17-second gap.
Harshveer Sekhon reclaims Blue Jersey
The battle in the secondary classifications also remained intense. Jambaljamts Sainbayar of Burgos Burpellet BH once again retained the Orange Jersey for Best Asian Rider. Dutch rider Viego Tijssen of Wielerploeg Groot Amsterdam once again claimed the White Jersey as the Best Young Rider (Under-23).
For the home fans, Asian Championship medallist Harshveer Sekhon of the Indian National Team reclaimed the Blue Jersey as India’s Leading Performer.
With three stages now completed, the Pune Grand Tour will now head toward its finale on Friday, January 23. Stage 4, which is called the Pune Pride Loop, will cover 95 kilometres with an elevation gain of 578 metres and play a crucial role in deciding the final standings. The stage will be flagged off from the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi and conclude at Balgandharva Rangmandir on JM Road.
