Camouflaged mule features LED light setups and a resemblance to the Venue

At first glance, the overall silhouette of the SUV is reminiscent of the Venue. The front-end features a split LED headlamp setup with the DRL signatures looking similar to those of the Venue, and has generous body cladding on the lower part of the bumper. The side profile, including the window line and cladding over the wheel arches, also looks similar, and it gets a new set of alloy wheels. Though camouflaged for the most part, the back-end comes with a different design for the LED tail-light setup. While spy shots don’t reveal the interior, it could likely come well-equipped with features like other Hyundai models.

The Bayon-based compact SUV will debut with a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine being developed by Hyundai. This engine sits between the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine used in compact models and the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine doing duty in mid-size models in the brand’s lineup. The 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine is also being developed to be hybrid-ready as part of the car maker’s hybrid-powered model strategy. Expect it to be paired with either a DCT or an e-CVT gearbox. A 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which currently serves the likes of the i20 N Line and Venue, could also be part of the lineup. It could be paired with a manual or a DCT gearbox.
