Russian attack hit several northeastern Ukrainian regions. A 20-year-old woman was killed in Kharkiv, and several civilians were injured. Local officials said the strikes damaged homes and critical infrastructure.
Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov said on Telegram that one person was killed after an enemy drone hit a private house in the northeastern city.
“There is information about one person killed as a result of an enemy drone strike on a private house,” Terekhov said.
Regional Governor Oleg Synegubov later confirmed that a UAV slammed into a residence, killing a 20-year-old woman and wounding another person.
Synegubov also said a 41-year-old woman suffered an “acute stress reaction” following the strike.
Sumy region reports injuries
The attacks extended beyond Kharkiv. In the northeastern Sumy region, emergency services said an airstrike hit a residential neighbourhood.
Three women and a seven-year-old child were wounded, according to officials. Preliminary assessments showed damage to 15 residential buildings.
In the Odesa region, officials in the Izmail district reported another Russian attack targeting critical infrastructure sites.
Initial information indicated no casualties. Officials said the strike followed a pattern of repeated assaults on the Danube port region.
Attacks coincide with diplomatic talks
The strikes came as Ukrainian negotiators arrived in the United States on Saturday for talks with President Donald Trump’s administration on ways to end four years of war with Russia.
The discussions are expected to focus on security guarantees and post-war recovery.
The conflict remains Europe’s worst war since World War II.
