Kia Carens Clavis HTE (EX): What’s new?
It is the MPV’s most affordable trim to offer a sunroof and automatic climate control
Sitting above the HTE (O), the Kia Carens Clavis HTE (EX) brings a single-pane sunroof. Until now, this feature was offered from the HTK+ (O), effectively lowering the entry point for a sunroof by over Rs 3 lakh. This also introduces a sunroof to the turbo-petrol Carens Clavis, as it was previously only available with a panoramic sunroof in the higher trims.
Other than this, the new HTE (EX) trim also comes with automatic climate control, one-touch up/down for the driver-side window, LED DRLs and LED lamps in the cabin. However, this trim is available with 7 seats and the same beige and black cabin theme as the lower trims.
Kia Carens Clavis HTE (EX) other features
Gets an 8-inch infotainment system, a rear parking camera and more
The new HTE (EX) trim builds on the lower-spec HTE (O), adding an 8-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 6-speaker sound system, a rear parking camera, powered ORVMs with turn indicators, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. It also gains rear window sunshades and a tilt-adjustable steering wheel with audio controls.

The petrol version gets 15-inch black alloy wheels, while the diesel variant sports larger 16-inch steel wheels with stylised covers. However, this trim lacks LED headlights and features auto-projector halogen units instead. Other safety features include 6 airbags, rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat anchorages and disc brakes on all four wheels.
The Kia Carens Clavis locks horns with the Maruti Suzuki XL6, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Rumion and the Kia Carens.
