The Kaiju No. 8’s final chapters will be adapted in a new conclusion arc. An anime short titled Narumi’s Week at Work was also announced at Jump Festa 2026.
Fans of the hit anime Kaiju No. 8 have reason to celebrate – the series is officially headed to get the anime adaptation of the conclusion arc, and a brand-new original anime short. The announcement was made at the Jump Festa 2026.
During the annual event in Chiba, Japan, the Kaiju No. 8 production team confirmed that Production I.G has begun work on the anime’s final arc, which will adapt the remaining chapters of Naoya Matsumoto’s original manga, including its climactic ending up through Chapter 129, following the conclusion of the story in the print series earlier this year.
Along with the announcement, a new key visual and promotional video were also released, teasing what fans can expect from this final stage of Kafka Hibino’s story. While an exact release date has not yet been revealed, it looks likely that the conclusion arc may arrive in late 2026 or early 2027.
In addition to the main adaptation, organisers also unveiled a short original anime titled Narumi’s Week at Work (Narumi no Heijitsu), centring on General Narumi, captain of the First Division and a fan-favourite character. The segment, similar in style to earlier shorts like Hoshina’s Day Off, promises a slice-of-life look at life within the Defence Force outside of kaiju combat.
Kaiju No. 8 has been among the anime world’s breakout hits since its debut, blending high-stakes kaiju battles with character-driven drama. Its source manga, which concluded its five-year run earlier in 2025, has been a bestseller on Shonen Jump+ and a global phenomenon, with millions of copies in circulation.
The anime’s second season aired earlier in 2025 to a strong reception. With the conclusion arc now officially in motion and Narumi’s Week at Work on the horizon, fans have plenty to look forward to as Kaiju No. 8 hurtles toward its finale.
