Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the e Vitara in India spec form. The carmaker’s first electric offering in the country is available in 49kWh and 61kWh variants and gets an ARAI-rated range of up to 543km.

Bookings for the Maruti e Vitara will open soon, with sales beginning from 2026 onward. The e Vitara will also be sold via subscription or via the BaaS (Battery as a service) scheme.

Maruti claims to have India’s largest fast charging network

For charging the e Vitara, Maruti Suzuki has developed around 2000 charging points in around 1,100 cities and aims to build 1 lakh chargers in India by 2020. Chargers can be accessed via the ‘e for me’ app, and Maruti Suzuki claims to have a charger available every 5-10km. Additionally, Maruti has collaborated with 13 charging point operators for access to a wider charging infrastructure. Moreover, about 1500 workshops are EV-ready for servicing, and out of these, 500 workshops are already prepared for EV support.

Comes with two battery pack choices in an FWD setup
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be available with two battery pack options: a 49kWh battery pack and a 61kWh battery pack. The ARAI claimed range for the 61kWh battery pack is 543km. The 49kWh battery pack will be sold with the base Delta trim, and the 61kWh battery pack will be sold with the Zeta and Alpha trims.
The e Vitara rivals the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, Vinast VF6, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6 and Tata Curvv EV.
