Mahindra has teased the production-spec version of the 2023 BE Rall-E concept for the first time, which will be launched alongside the Mahindra XEV 9S on November 26. The teaser gives a glimpse of the exterior design of the upcoming e-SUV.

  1. Fascia is similar to the Rall-E concept, with similar headlights and tail lights
  2. Production-spec model has been toned down; it misses out on roof rack and steel wheels
  3. Will be launched at the Scream Electric event on November 26

Production-spec Mahindra BE Rall-E: What can be seen?

Borrows a lot of elements from BE 6, but gets a different lighting setup

The teaser shows glimpses of the front and rear profiles of the upcoming e-SUV. Its fascia features the same scooped-out bonnet design and eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs as the lower-spec Pack One Above trim of the Mahindra BE 6. What differentiates it from the BE 6, however, are the circular housing for the projector LED headlights, which look similar to the BE Rall-E concept. Keen-eyed viewers can also spot a more prominent front bash plate than the already available BE model.

In profile, its silhouette of the production-spec Rall-E model looks similar to the concept with a sloping roofline and sharp creases on the body. However, in its production-spec avatar, it will do away with the off-road spec steel rims and will come with star-pattern aerodynamically optimised alloy wheels. A roof-mounted carrier, which was shown with the concept model, also seems to be omitted from the production-spec version of the eSUV.

At the rear, the teaser showcases a roof-mounted spoiler and LED light bars that will not be connected. The teaser also hints at a spoiler over the tail light section and an infinity logo on the tailgate.

Look closely and you can see the front seat headrests of the upcoming eSUV, which resemble the ones on the current-spec BE 6.

Production-spec Mahindra BE Rall-E: Expected powertrain options

Expected to come with the same powertrain options as the BE 6

Mahindra is expected to reveal the powertrain specifications of the upcoming e-SUV, after which we will be able to comment on that regard. However, it could borrow the same battery pack and electric motor from the Mahindra BE 6.

The BE 6 offers a choice between a 59kWh or a 79kWh battery pack with an ARAI claimed range of up to 683km. It gets a choice between either a 231hp or a 286hp electric motor mounted on the rear axle (RWD).

Production-spec Mahindra BE Rall-E: What more is expected?

Likely to have a BE 6-like cabin and a similar feature suite

Standard Mahindra BE 6 cabin shown for reference

While it is too early to speculate, the production-spec BE Rall-E model could come with a similar dashboard layout as the Mahindra BE 6. If that is the case, it can get the same 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated ‘BE’ logo, dual digital displays and an aircraft-style trim between the driver and co-driver.

Other features expected on board the upcoming BE model could include powered and ventilated front seats, an augmented reality (AR) based HUD, an in-car camera for driver monitoring and attending video calls, a 360-degree camera, a powered tailgate and up to 7 airbags.

The off-road spec SUV will not have any direct rivals in India, but it will still see competition from the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV and also the upcoming Tata Sierra EV and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
