Dharmendra was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai earlier this week. The actor had been critical and on life support.

“He went to the hospital on Thursday. Since the results would take some time to arrive, the family decided that it would be better for him to stay there until all the routine check-ups are done properly. He is old and needs proper attention from the doctors. There’s nothing to worry about,” the insider told PTI.

“The whole ventilator news is fake. Dharmendra has been hospitalised for a week, but he is not on a ventilator. Sunny Deol visited Dharmendra in the morning at the hospital, and he is back now. If something like this would have happened, his entire family would have been in the hospital,” sources close to him said.

The legendary actor is survived by his wives, Hema Malini and Prakash Kaur, and his children, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta, Ajeeta, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol.

Dharmendra, who featured in over 300 movies, made his debut with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere in 1960.

His final film, Ikkis, is set to release this December. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the movie features Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda in a lead role.
