The current Mahindra XUV700 has been on the market for over 4 years now, and is soon due a mid-lifecycle update. Ahead of its expected launch in 2026, we’ve got our hands on some fresh spy shots of the updated XUV700, previewing some new design details. It is also expected to borrow several interior features from Mahindra’s born-electric range of EVs. Let’s take a closer look at what to expect.

Mahindra XUV700 facelift exterior, interior updates
On the outside, the updates to the XUV700 are expected on only the soft plastic parts, chief of which are likely to be a new grille and headlamp design. Although the test mule is heavily camouflaged, the grille section seems to have larger air inlets, and there seems to be a twin pod-like design for the headlamps. Mahindra could also redo the LED daytime running lamp signature and tweak the bumper for a sharper design.

There appears to be no sheet metal changes, as the bonnet, doors and fenders all look very similar to the current car. At the rear, the XUV700 could get a new lighting signature, perhaps in the form of a connected light strip, as well as a new bumper. It also gets a new alloy wheel design with an aero-optimised design.
More significant changes are expected on the inside, where the XUV700 facelift could adopt a new triple screen setup as seen on the XEV 9e. Mahindra has already teased this feature with the upcoming XEV 9S, and it is very likely to make its way to the updated XUV700 as well. The current XUV700 does have a bunch of handy physical switchgear for climate operations, but it remains to be seen if that’s retained with the facelift. The current 6- and 7-seater configurations are also likely to be retained.
Mahindra XUV700 facelift powertrain options
No mechanical changes expected

We do not expect any change under the hood. The XUV700 facelift will continue to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine good for 200hp and 380Nm or a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel mill developing 155-185hp and 360-450Nm, depending on the spec. As for transmissions options, both engines can be expected to continue with their respective 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter auto gearboxes. The diesel-AT powertrain is also expected to retain its optional all-wheel drive configuration.
The Mahindra XUV700 facelift is expected to launch in the first half of 2026. Expect a slight bump in prices. For reference, the current XUV700 is priced between Rs 13.66 lakh and Rs 23.71 lakh.
