Ahead of its reveal on January 26, 2026, the new Renault Duster has been teased in India again, this time showing glimpses of the SUV’s exterior design. While not much is visible, the teaser confirms that the India-spec model will have certain design changes compared to the globally available Duster.
- Will feature eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs over the headlights
- A connected LED taillight will be offered as well
2026 Renault Duster: What could be spotted?
Teaser shows global model’s silhouette with new design elements
The new teaser video shows the Duster under wraps, with the lighting elements visible through the cover. The eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs can be spotted and will also function as turn indicators. This design differs from the Y-shaped LED DRLs offered on the global-spec model.

The taillight design has also been teased, revealing connected LED taillights linked by a central light bar commonly seen on modern SUVs. In contrast, the global-spec model features distinctive Y-shaped wraparound LED taillights. A rear wiper and the new Renault logo that debuted with the Triber can also be seen.
While the interior is yet to be revealed, the overall design is expected to remain largely unchanged, with the addition of soft-touch materials on key touchpoints to enhance the premiumness of the India-specific model.
2026 Renault Duster: Expected features
Features and safety suite expected to be the same as global-spec model

Other features offered in the globally available Duster are expected to be similar in the upcoming model. These include a 7-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and a wireless phone charger. It is also expected to be offered with a panoramic sunroof.
In terms of safety, it can get 6 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera with a blind spot monitor, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
2026 Renault Duster: Expected powertrain options
Will launch with a petrol engine; strong-hybrid option to follow later
Renault is expected to offer the Duster with petrol-only powertrains at launch. One could be the 156hp, 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit that is also available with the global-spec model. Another could be the Kiger‘s 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is likely to be expected with the lower variants of the Duster, with a slight power bump.
Sources at Renault have confirmed that the SUV will also receive a strong-hybrid petrol engine, which we expect to be introduced around 12 months after the Duster’s India launch. While there is no confirmation yet on which hybrid powertrain will be offered in India, the Duster sold overseas comes with a 149hp, 1.6-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine option.
The India-spec Renault Duster is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, and will lock horns with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor.
