In the run-up to the Majestor’s launch on February 12, JSW MG Motor India has released a teaser video showcasing just its exterior. To slot above the MG Gloster, the carmaker’s current ICE flagship, the new MG Majestor three-row SUV will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq upon launch.

The short video features a Majestor in black exterior shade. Also seen in the teaser are a massive grille up front with an MG logo in the centre, and a faux silver skid plate. Lighting elements comprise L-shaped DRLs (not connected) and vertically-stacked LED headlights. We could also spot machined-finish alloy wheels, likely 19 inches in size.

MG had also showcased the Majestor in metal at the 2025 Auto Expo; however, its interior was not on display. 12.3-inch each digital driver’s display and touchscreen, wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera setup, powered seats, automatic climate control and drive modes are among a few expected features.

2026 MG Majestor engine and gearbox

Gloster’s 215hp diesel unit may be used

Details about the MG SUV’s powertrains are still under wraps, but we expect it to be equipped with the Gloster’s 2-litre 4-cylinder twin-turbocharged diesel engine. In the latter, the 215hp, 478Nm mill is hooked up to an 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, channelling drive to all wheels via a four-wheel-drive system. Gloster’s entry-level 2-litre single turbo diesel engine, with relatively lesser peak outputs of 161hp and 373Nm and a two-wheel drive layout, is unlikely to be on offer with the Majestor.

The MG Gloster is also available with another 2.0-litre diesel engine; this time with just one turbocharger. Producing 161hp and 373Nm of torque in the Gloster 2WD variant, it is only available with a rear-wheel-drive configuration. However, this powertrain is less likely to make it to the new Majestor.

2026 MG Majestor price expectations

More expensive than the Gloster

The MG Majestor will be priced at a premium over the Gloster, which, for reference, costs between Rs 38.33 lakh and Rs 43.16 lakh, ex-showroom. Talking about rivals, at the time of writing, the Toyota Fortuner is priced between Rs 34.16 lakh and Rs 49.59 lakh, while the Skoda Kodiaq range starts at Rs 39.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 43.76 lakh.
